HP-301 stroller receives highest safety rating in Beijing consumer test

Jun 13, 2025

The Beijing Consumer Association conducted a comparative test on some stroller products sold on the market. Among them, the HP-301 stroller from Anhui Hope Child Product Co., Ltd. won a five-star rating in the recent test of the Beijing Consumer Association (BCA), becoming one of the four stroller samples with the highest score among the 50 strollers evaluated. Consumers can buy it with confidence.

The comparative test samples were purchased by the staff of the Beijing Consumer Association from e-commerce platforms and physical stores as ordinary consumers, totaling 50 strollers, involving 43 brands and 2 unmarked brand samples, with purchase prices ranging from 118 yuan/vehicle to 4999 yuan/vehicle. The comparative test commissioned the Beijing Light Industry Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Station 1 to test the samples' shock absorption performance, stability, brake performance, restraint system, wheel wear resistance, and dynamic durability test items. To be closer to the actual usage habits of ordinary consumers, the comparative test samples were tested with reference to the methods of GB14748-2006 "Safety Requirements for Child Strollers", and the test results are only responsible for the purchased samples.

  • Shock absorption performance

The shock absorption performance of a stroller is an aspect that parents pay great attention to when choosing a stroller, especially for newborns, whose important parts such as the head and spine are not fully developed. Good shock absorption performance can effectively protect the baby from the impact of road bumps.

The comparative test tests the shock absorption performance of the sample. A container of water with a weight of 780g is placed on the sample. The normal pushing of the stroller is simulated on the test road, and the weight of the spilled water is measured to compare the shock absorption performance of each stroller. The less the weight of the spilled water, the better the shock absorption performance.

  • Stability

The stability of a stroller refers to the ability of the stroller to maintain balance and not easily tip over during use. Stability is related to the safety of children. A stroller with good stability can effectively prevent tipping accidents caused by uneven roads or improper operation, thereby protecting children from injury.

After testing, all 50 samples met the requirements of GB14748-2006 "Safety Requirements for Strollers", that is, the stability does not tip over on a 12° slope. To further evaluate the stability of the samples, this test added a slope angle test, recorded the angle of the ramp when the cart tipped over, and compared the stability of each cart. The larger the angle when tipping over, the better the stability.

  • Braking device performance

The braking device performance mainly refers to the effectiveness of the braking system of the stroller, including the sensitivity, stability and durability of the brakes. Specifically, it determines the stability of the stroller when it is stopped and whether it can stop quickly and effectively when braking is required.

After testing, all 50 samples meet the requirements of GB14748-2006 "Safety Requirements for Strollers", that is, the braking performance does not move on a 9° slope. The slope angle test was added to the comparative test, recording the angle of the ramp when the stroller moves, and comparing the braking device performance of each stroller. The larger the angle when the sample moves, the better the braking device performance.

  • Restraint system

The child stroller restraint system refers to a set of devices installed on the child stroller to fix the child in the stroller seat, usually including shoulder straps, waist belts, crotch belts and other parts, as well as matching buckle connecting belts and locking devices.

The comparative test conducted a tensile test on the safety belt buckles of the samples, recorded the load force when the stroller restraint system was pulled apart, and compared the strength of the safety belts of each stroller. The greater the force value, the better the restraint system.

  • Wheel wear resistance

The wheel wear resistance of a stroller refers to the ability of the wheel material to resist mechanical wear, which is usually measured by a wear test. In the wear test, the wear of the wheel in actual use is simulated, and the wear resistance of the wheel is evaluated through certain friction conditions and test cycles.

The comparative test tested the wear resistance of the sample wheel. The rear wheel of the sample was placed on the roller of the test machine and ran at a constant speed for 4 hours. The reduction in the rear wheel diameter of the stroller was measured, and the wheel wear resistance of each stroller was compared. The smaller the diameter reduction, the better the wheel wear resistance.

  • Dynamic durability test

The dynamic durability test of a stroller refers to a test that simulates the push of a stroller under different road conditions. During the test, the stroller is fixed on the test bench with a certain load, and the required number of tests and speed are set to simulate the dynamic environment of the stroller in actual use.

The comparative test tested the dynamic durability of the sample to the limit. The more times it can withstand impact, the better the dynamic durability.
